Shiatsu Acupressure
Shiatsu is a traditional form of massage developed in Japan. A healing touch of hand pressure is used along the meridians (energy lines) to move Ki (energy). This communication brings balance to the physical, psychological, and spiritual body. Each session begins by connecting with the clients front Hara (abdomen) or back Hara (along spine). This connection will determine which areas of the body will be addressed to bring balance to the body. Sessions are given on floor or mat. Their is no oil used in Shiatsu Massage. Clients please arrive in comfortable stretch clothes. Yoga clothes are perfect!

Treatments are designed to awaken the body’s natural ability to become balanced. Improves circulation and Qi flow to move toxins out of the body. Visiting a Tui Na Doctor is very common in China.
Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point in the body feel like a taut band may cause a twitch response when pressed. When pressing on a trigger point it may feel painful and may also radiate to another part of the body. The practitioner works through muscle tissue to release scared or damaged tissue and myofacial pain. Each session includes a brief education on how to stretch the muscle. Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapy is benefits anyone constantly contracting and working their musculature, such as athletes, or recovering from emotional trauma.
Swedish/Circulatory
Swedish is the most common form of massage. Promotes full body relaxation and improves circulation. The client is covered under a sheet. Oils and lotions are generally applied during a traditional session.
Fire Cupping
Cupping is a healing method used by many cultures around the world. A glass cup is placed on the clients skin and creates a vacuum. This vacuum causes the blood to circulate to the surface bringing any disharmony, stagnation, in the body to the surface. Examples are arthritis pain, abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, hypertension, common cold, cough,
low back pain, painful menstruation, eyes red, and swollen tissue. Optimal duration of a treatment is 3-15 minutes for each body part. Cupping will leave a red-purple color in the skin. Parts of the skin that show redness should remain covered with clothing. Skin will return back to normal in 3-5 days. Chinese Medicine believes all bumps, leathery patches, and built up connective tissue are a result of stagnant Qi (Energy) and Xue (Blood). Cupping is not recommended if clients energy level is low or tired, and prohibited if pregnant. Please contact therapist with further questions.
Prenatal
Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
